Leap Card zones in Dublin
Dublin uses a smart ticketing system — Leap cards — and fare zones for these apply across the Dublin area, as per the diagram below.
Fare zone pricing information
Travelling within Zone 1
When travelling within Central Dublin (in Zone 1) the fares charged to your Leap Card are as follows:
TFI 90-Minute Fare (90 minutes travel on tram, train or bus)
Adult: €2.00
Young Adult/Student: €1.00
Child: €0.65
Dublin Commuter Bus/Nitelink/Xpresso (within Zone 1)
Adult: €2.40
Young Adult/Student/Child: €1.20
Travelling via other zones
Rail single fares
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 2: €3.90 (Adults) | €1.95 (Children and Young Adults)
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 3: €6.00 (Adults) | €3.00 (Children and Young Adults)
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 4: €7.50 (Adults) | €3.75 (Children and Young Adults)
Bus single fares
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 2: €3.70 (Adults) | €1.85 (Children and Young Adults)
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 3: €5.30 (Adults) | €2.65 (Children and Young Adults)
Zone 1 ↔️ Zone 4: €6.30 (Adults) | €3.15 (Children and Young Adults)
Note: leap card zonal fares currently only apply when travelling to or from Zone 1. Transport for Ireland is currently investigating the possibility of introducing fares that are applied when travelling within other zones (for example, when making a journey between Zone 3 and Zone 4 etc.).
