Irish Rail has announced its arrangements for the Christmas and New Year period — they are listed below. We advise checking the Irish Rail website for the latest Christmas rail travel updates.

Thursday 21 December 2023

  • A normal daytime DART and commuter timetable in operation.

  • Late night trains departing from Pearse at 00:30 and 01:30, stopping at every station en route to Howth.

  • Late night trains leaving Connolly at 00:30 and 01:30, making stops at all stations on the way to Greystones.

  • Late night departures from Pearse at 00:40 and 01:40, stopping at Tara St, Connolly, and every station between Howth Junction and Dundalk.

  • Late night trains from Pearse at 00:20 and 02:00, servicing all stations up to Maynooth.

  • Late night services from Pearse at 23:50 and 01:50, covering all stations to Drumcondra, and every station from ParkWest to Kildare.

Friday 22 December 2023

  • A normal daytime DART and commuter timetable in operation.

  • Late night trains departing from Pearse at 00:30 and 01:30, stopping at every station en route to Howth.

  • Late night trains from Pearse at 00:20 and 02:00, servicing all stations up to Maynooth.

Sunday 24 December 2023 (Christmas Eve)

  • DART and Commuter Services: Regular schedule until approximately 21:00 on all routes.

  • Intercity Services: Running as usual, except for cancellations of the 21:00 Heuston to Cork, 20:30 Heuston to Galway, 19:25 Heuston to Limerick, and 18:20 Limerick to Heuston trains.

Monday 25 December 2023 (Christmas Day)

  • No train services available.

Tuesday 26 December 2023 (St Stephen’s Day)

  • No train services available.

Wednesday 27 December 2023

  • DART and Commuter services to operate to a Saturday timetable.

Thursday 28 December 2023

  • DART and Commuter services to operate to a Saturday timetable, with some minor alterations in place.

Friday 29 December 2023

  • DART and Commuter services to operate to a Saturday timetable, with some minor alterations in place.

Saturday 30 December 2023

  • DART and Commuter services to operate to a Saturday timetable, with some minor alterations in place.

Sunday 31 January 2023

  • DART and Commuter services will follow the regular Sunday timetable until approximately 22:00 on all routes.

  • Additional late night DART trains at 01:30 and 02:30 depart from Pearse, stopping at every station en route to Howth.

  • Additional late night DART trains from Connolly at 01:30 and 02:30, making stops at all stations on the way to Greystones.

  • At 01:40 and 02:40, trains leave Pearse, calling at Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk.

  • Pearse station has trains leaving at 01:20 and 03:00, servicing all stations to Maynooth.

  • From Pearse, trains at 00:50 and 02:50 head towards Drumcondra, stopping at all stations from ParkWest to Kildare.

  • For Intercity routes, all Sunday services will run except for the following cancellations: the 21:00 Heuston to Cork, 20:30 Heuston to Galway, 19:25 Heuston to Limerick, and 18:20 Limerick to Heuston services.

Monday 1 January 2024

  • Revised Sunday Service Schedule for DART and Commuter Trains.

  • Adjusted Timetable for Intercity Routes.

Tuesday 2 January 2024

  • A regular weekday service to operate on al routes.
